ZAMBIA SUGAR IS THE LARGEST EMPLOYER in the southern province with 7,555 direct employees and over 4 774 indirect employees. The outgrower scheme made up of 379 small holder farmers in 3 schemes and 24 commercial farmers employs 3,885 people.
