Zambia Sugar Plc has strengthened its position as a regional leader in manufacturing after receiving two top honours at the Southern Africa Quality Excellence Awards, recognising the company’s commitment to quality, innovation, and operational excellence.
The company was awarded the Quality Excellence Award for Best in Class Manufacturing in Southern Africa and the Quality Excellence Award for Best Manufacturer of Sugar in Southern Africa.
The awards recognise organisations that consistently demonstrate high standards in product quality, operational performance, innovation, and customer satisfaction across the Southern African region.
Zambia Sugar described the recognition as a reflection of the dedication of its employees, the strength of its manufacturing processes, and its continued focus on producing high-quality products that meet international standards.
The latest accolades add to a growing list of achievements for the company in quality and food safety. In November 2025, Zambia Sugar received the National Quality Award in Livingstone before earning the SADC Quality Award in Johannesburg, South Africa, in March 2026.
With four major quality awards received within a period of less than a year, Zambia Sugar says the achievements demonstrate its continued investment in world-class manufacturing systems and its commitment to maintaining the highest standards across its operations.
Company officials said the recognition as both the best manufacturing company and the leading sugar producer in Southern Africa provides further motivation to continue raising industry standards while supporting Zambia’s industrial and agricultural development.
Zambia Sugar reaffirmed its commitment to producing safe, high-quality products while advancing sustainability and continuous improvement throughout its business.
The company also expressed gratitude to its employees, out-growers, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders whose continued support and partnership have contributed to the achievement.
As Zambia Sugar continues to expand its operations and invest in innovation, the company says it remains focused on delivering excellence while strengthening its contribution to Zambia’s economy and the wider Southern African manufacturing sector.
