We were thrilled to engage with the recent graduates at our Management in Training (MIT) Careers Fair held at Nakambala Thursday 7 August 2025. We demonstrated the many opportunities in various fields that await them at the company in the hope of interesting them with an offer to join us.

Our Managing Director, Mr. Oswald Magwenzi, encouraged the youths reminding the young them that Zambia Sugar was seeking people with qualities such as Purpose, Personality, and Passion which are key to career growth. He reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to creating career opportunities and continuing with key initiatives such as the MIT programme that were key to grooming future leaders.

Meet the Inspiration: Muchimba Muunyu & Miniver Kabwela, Zambia Sugar’s FIRST female Production Shift Managers! As MIT graduates (CBU Chem Eng ’19), they shared their incredible journey: “Embrace growth and showcase your value when opportunity knocks!”

Their stories, alongside insights from MIT alumni, Agriculture Director, Emmanuel Simwiinga and Estate Support Services Director, Collins Phiri, perfectly embody the potential unlocked by this programme.

150 young graduates were invited to this year’s careers fair, helping them to get a firsthand look at our operations. We look forward to making this event an annual event.

Over 3 000 recent graduates applied for the MIT programme and a robust selection process continues to be underway for the 2025 MIT cohort!
